Jan 2011 – We implemented a number of improvements to the search last year including adding cases and opportunities to the search results and allowing search by email address.

A popular request that is left to be done is the ability to do a ‘full text’ search across emails and notes. I’m renaming this suggestion to reflect that this is what is left of this original suggestion. Other search related suggestions should be raised as a separate request. Thanks

Improving the searching and sorting functionality is the one big thing lacking in CapsuleCRM. Otherwise it's a great CRM on the desktop and in mobile. Easy to use and intuitive.... BUT not have a robust searching and sorting functionality for notes and email is a pain.

Please assure us that it's in active development. Thanks!

We are evaluating Capsule CRM, and without a full text search it is a no go for us too. I hope we hear about it soon as otherwise we like Capsule for its simplicity.

I cannot believe we are still waiting for something on this, surely it cannot be that hard!

would _really_ appreciate this feature. Being able to search through all communication is really a must-have..

I must agree with other comments here, and am also perplexed as to why this hasn't been addressed, given the amount of votes guys?! I've been using Capsule for a few weeks now, and there is a real need to have the whole database searchable. For example, if I make a note of who referred me to an organisation, or a sub-client etc etc.

I have to agree with Kristin's comment. I've liked many things about this CRM, but I am beginning to look for other vendors since a simple text search can't be accomplished by this company - and clearly isn't a priority if it's laid out here since January 2011 (almost 2 years).

Very disappointed not to be able to search through my About and History sections. We meet several new people a day in my business and cannot always remember names, but instead, must be able to find people based on the details we remember! Am very seriously having to consider switching to another CRM, which kills me because Capsule is wonderful in many other respects!

Is this in the roadmap? What's the point of having a repository to put a bunch of information if I can't find it? This limitation severely limits the utility of capsule software.

Yes - this is an important feature for me as well. Full text search across all attached documents, emails, notes.

Search MUST Search every field, every attachement (email), every note etc - everything. It is not a CRM unless it does.

I couldn't agree more. A CRM database WITHOUT ANY 'fields' that can be search for random text is almost useless.
Notes and Email searches are o.k., but they are listed chronologically and soon scroll off the main screen, meaning extra work to get there. Besides, they are 'historical'
What is needed, is a searchable field for, where one can search for any word within that field.
        Example: Hobbies: Tennis, Diving, Reading
There is no way to find 'Diving' in any of the searchable fields. And 'Hobbies' is not something I want buried in the 'Notes' section.
Using tags for these sort of thing ? I'll end up with hundreds or thousands of tags (Hobbies, favorite foods/drinks, vacation spots, cities, music, films etc. etc.)
Right now the ONLY reason I will use it is its Kashflow integration and the Skype function.
Without those two, I would be looking elsewhere.

I second that very much as we could bring most of the bits and pieces we now have to hold in a freeform database like catch.
Background and notes is where the treasure is to intelligently dig and connect dotted lines in generating new business.

Is this really difficult to implement a Global Search?
it will increase substantially the usability of the CRM!!!!.
At least a global search in all the fields in the Capsule CRM (at first dont include the emails)

If there are many emails and notes then it's very difficult to search for a particular phrase. The only way at presnt is to do a copy and paste to an external package and search there. This is clumsy and inconvenient. -

I agree this is critical and if not resolved will definitely result in us moving to a more grown up CRM/database package...

Not being able to search notes and the "about" fields of people/organisations seems to be critical - has this been addresses at all since Jan 2011??
